A shelf would be nice for sure. Also, the comp cart makes it very difficult to attach the cold weather blanket properly. I make it work but duct tape is involved. 🙄
I have a rack from Wild Fork defrosting in the fridge right now. Planning on doing them Saturday. I did a rack several weeks ago.. So good and really easy too. I just hit them liberally with Heffer Dust the night before then toss them on the 700 at 250 degrees first thing in the morning. When...
I bet you hit a stall anytime now. That's a big hunk of meat. In fact, I've never seen a chuck roast that big. Could stall for hours. When done, just wrap it and hold in a cooler wrapped in towels or a warm oven. It will be fine.
I'm with you. Today was a perfect early fall day here in WI. 70 degrees, not a cloud in the sky, and a light breeze. So I tossed a couple of racks of baby back ribs on the 700. Sat outside listening to blues and drinking beer while I "tended" the smoker. Paradise. Oh and the ribs turned...
I also don't see any reason to do mods. My 700 does everything I need as it was delivered. Love it as is. I have 8 other cookers so I can do pretty much anything in terms of outdoor cooking. However, I do have a Weber rotisserie ring for my 22" kettle. Maybe I need to buy a Bullseye for it! 😂🤣
I have the "original" size. Not sure what they call that now. I have had it, I have two actually, for going on ten years now. Yes I find them very easy to clean. I just lift out the drip pan, lay the can on its side, and blast it with the garden hose. Grates go in the dishwasher.
I have never done one hour ribs on my 700. But I do them in my Orion cooker. See theorioncooker.com
I use it when I need a lot of food in a short amount of time. It's a charcoal hog so you want to fill it up to make the most of the fuel cost. It will do up to six racks of ribs in about an...
I have the 700 with the RT cold weather blanket. I’m in the Milwaukee, WI area so it gets cold here too. The 700 performes flawlessly in cold with the blanket. Only a slight increase in pellet consumption if any increase at all.
I did pork belly burnt ends on the 700 today. Recipe by Malcom Reed. I followed it to the letter and as expected they came out awesome. Really easy too. Pig Candy! Try it out sometime.
Skip the grill grates. Get a flattop. Much more versatile. I got a little 17” Blackstone. It’s just my wife and I so plenty big. If cooking for more than two, get a bigger size for sure.
I have one. The original version. I got it specifically for use with my Weber kettle rotisserie. It works great in terms of temp monitoring. The probe is really thick and leaves a hole in the meat but that’s ok with me. The Bluetooth connects to my iPhone well but the range is absurdly limited...
I’m a 700 owner for 2 1/2 years.
Absolutely worth it.
Hey, nothing is perfect. But my RT experience has been very close. Sure the app could be much better. But it does all I need it to. So no real problem there. Everyone raves about the customer service. But honestly, I’ve never needed to...
I have used them exclusively since buying my 700 2.5 years ago. I got four bags with the grill, they worked very well, and I figured if I had any pellet related grill problems RT wouldn’t have an out. I get them by the bag from Amazon for $35/bag.
Oh man. I want one so bad. Certainly don’t need it. My 700 is plenty big enough for my needs. But we’re way into the want category. I WANT one! Have fun and share the adventures please.
