UPS put $6 worth of tape on mine. Looked like intentional grounding.! LOL. I was able to re-bend the lid. Rectec said if I had any issues with it they would send a new lid.

Greg, please explain the gasket. My Trailblazer came with the lid a little tweaked from shipping damage. RT gave the ok to bend it back to shape and said they will send me a new one if I want.
