I sealed my lid with the lavalock basket. I wanted it to keep it cleaner and it doesn't make that metal clunk sound when you close the lid which makes it sound cheap imo. And don't let anyone tell you it changes temps because the fan is blowing air into the firepot anyway

One thing that helps if you take your meat put it on the butcher paper and spray some water all the way around the paper around the edge of the meat and the paper will form more tightly to the meat.

Go to Tractor supply and buy a stall mat. Its a thick rubber mat for only $25. I have mine sitting the long way and I stand on one end of it. It provides some comfort as you stand there and it's very sturdy and won't slide.
