Just about all of the powdercoat is gone from the inside of the lid, which isn't too bad since the creosote and whatever seems to be serving as rust protection. But it's started peeling around to the outside from the bottom edge, and that's rusting up, which I'm sure is just going to spread...

I'm ordering a 590 in the next few days and was planning on ordering a sear kit with it. I've been reading that a lot of people turn them 90 degrees to keep grease from running down the body and missing the drip pan. Has anyone tried wrapping the end inch (or whatever it takes) in aluminum...
