Wanting to make a shelf for the RT 700 with installed competition cart. Would the left over bottom shelf from the RT 700 wide leg stand kit that I didn’t use due to competition cart work? The shelf is 17x38.

Had a Trager Texas Elite for 8 years and gave it to my nephew and is still going. Had many good cooks on it and customer service was good. That said, I recently bought a Rectec RT700 Bull. It cost more but does have better quality. Rectec also has great customer service.

Recommend not leaving the lid open during shut down. If you have wind blowing it will keep the fire box burning and eventually burn the pellets in the auger back up to your pellet box. Trust me from experience, keep it closed.
