It is Memorial Day and my App is working and the notifications! Anybody else having good luck today with this? And a thanks to all our fallen and wounded warriors!

    Review censorship

Yes, you can have it preset into your website not to list ratings ratings below a certain threshold. It is a subtle form of lying in my opinion.

Bull Tri tip, low and slow

Low and slow was first way I ever had tri-tip almost 20 years ago. There was a church in CA that would cook several in their ugly drum smokers all night. It was interesting how there was very little science to it. No thermometers in the smokers or temps taken on the meats but the best tri-tip...

    Latest app update busted connectivity

I’m using the app right now on my 590. So far no issue but I’ll be watching closely. They advertised the app pretty hard on a recent marketing email for the Super Bowl. It will be interesting to see if traffic hinders the app like it has in the past. I hope all of your issues resolve...

    App Notifications on Christmas!

I have complained and chimed in on pasts posts about notifications not working on holidays. HOWEVER… The app and notifications worked on Christmas for me! Do you all think it has been fixed or do you think that app traffic was light on Christmas?

    A Sous Vide Reheated Brisket.

+1 - Yes! The microwave always gives leftover meat a strange taste in my opinion. Using the toaster oven, dries it out. I started putting slices of brisket in Ziploc‘s and letting it warm up in a sauce pan, kind of a poor man’s sous vide. Comes out tasting awesome, and stays juicy. You have to...

    Anyone have a Vitamix blender?

We love our Vitamix from Costco. We’ve had one for years and it is awesome. Won’t live without it. Reminds me that I need to make some peanut butter again!

RT-1250 App temp chart not working

This has been a known issue and Rectec will not or cannot fix it. Every holiday new users come to the forum and report this. I wish there were a way to let every potential Rectec customer know this before they purchased. When it started hurting sales they might be motivated to fix it. Can...

    New RecTeq CEO

In one sense I am happy that a US company has grown and become successful. However, my sentiment matches those who have posted above about the concern that what matters most to us users will change. Time will tell if what matters most to the owners matches what matters most to us. History shows...

Stampede Question before I sell my 590 and get a stick burner

To the OP. I have had my 590 for about three years. No issues at all. I have posted about this before but I too am underwhelmed with the smoke profile from the 590. I came from a Weber Smokey Mountain to the pellet world and the 590 just can’t come close to the smoke profile of the WSM. I...

Stampede Looking to purchase an RT-590, question about having it on a balcony

I’ve had my 590 on our townhome deck for about 3 years with no issues. I pull it away from the siding about a foot or so. No smoke marks have been left on the siding or the soffit and wall doesn’t seem to get hot. Further away is definitely safer though.

What is your favorite fish to smoke?

I didn’t like salmon until I smoked some on my Weber setup with a Smokenator. I used Weber’s Peppercorn steak mix and canola oil as a brine (only two hours) and a honey/maple/lemon glaze. I’ve also had people say it was the best they have had. Are you guys getting much smoke flavor from your...

    adequate smoke?

I have posted about this in the past but will jump in here. My smoking adventure started with Weber grills and smokers. So, going to a pellet grill I was a bit underwhelmed with the smoke profile. I do love my RECTEC though but for other reasons. I learned a lesson that I have seen others...

RecTec Stampede and WSM 18" Smoke off!

The set and forget certainly is nice. Since my original post I have sold my WSM. Not because I didn’t like it but because I had too many grills on my deck. My wife was hoping I’d make more room. So being the good husband I am, I bought a Weber Summit Kamado. It smokes and grills so I was...

Stampede First try at 3-2-1 Ribs

Try Bill Gillespie’s method. You can find it on You tube. 2.5 hours on the grill and 1 hour wrapped at 250°-275° The whole cook. This is main method I use now on my 590 and constantly get feedback that the ribs are best people have had. They are fall off the bone tender and to the general...

    Stampede Where to hang tools?

I use the magnetic hooks from Harbor Freight. They are strong and you can move them around or just take them off if you decide you don’t want them anymore. I put some black tape on the back of the magnet to make sure the grill finish wasn’t blemished. I placed my hooks right beneath the...

    Stampede 590, Wait or Other

Interesting to read this thread and see that this app issue is beginning to cost Reqteq some sales. I hope they are really paying attention. For me, the app works great except on holidays when you need it the most. I think you’ll enjoy your 590. I have had mine for about 2 years now and the...
