My big complaint here isn't that Recteq did this.
It's that they didn't fix the problem with their back end not using the priority Firebase channel for notifications, so you still don't get notified on a reliable basis when things happen (like temperatures hit for the meat probes, etc.)
If...
If you run it at a given setpoint after removing what you can get out of the hopper until it starts to drop temperature (e.g. by 50F) its pretty-much completely empty down the tube.
I have very mixed feelings on this one -- I have done it both the "recommended" way, going to the done-ness you want and then resting it, plus perhaps a final sear, and letting it go quite low and slow -- although not as hot as for pork or similar, obviously. For the latter I usually foil 3/4...
Depends on the use case. This is perfect for my RV with myself or myself + 1.

Its cheap, it works, it will cook damn near anything at a campsite, it can use either 1lb...
I have one of Blackstone's $100 griddles for my RV and at that price-point I like it a LOT. It needs side skirts as otherwise even a slight wind slows cooking performance dramatically but magnetic "as needed" ones are available through Spamazon for cheap money. It's my "one cooking device...
Ok, here's the scoop after going down the rabbit hole with a packet sniffer and what's going on for those of you with Android.
Bottom line: Recteq is stupid and this is trivially fixable for now, although they need to have someone competent go through and fix their app; I can't without source...
Got mine ordered during the Black Friday deal -- took a couple of days to ship.
Obnoxiously FedEx got all three (legs, body, cover) the same day but delivered the body and cover one day -- legs the next. Obviously couldn't assemble it without the legs!
All good now however and smoking up the...
I have NEVER gotten a notification in the app -- Android 14.
Not for the grill coming to temp, not for meat hitting target, nothing.
Not once.
And yes, EVERYTHING is turned on in the app and phone itself (double-checked it.)
5Ghz doesn't go through walls well AT ALL. Since a grill is usually outdoors 5Ghz wouldn't do much for you anyway. See my other posting here I put up today if you're having trouble pairing -- there are some WiFi 6 routers out there with a chipset that likes to have its driver blow up during...
Beware a potential issue while "pairing" the Recteq grills and certain WiFi access poins, specifically those with the same WiFi controller in it that the Dynalinks have. This is an IPQ WiFi controller which has a history being a bit "glitchy" in other ways as well, but not like this...
