Did the OP hit the top with some SS cleaner yet? If its rust-- then the SS cleaner wont make a difference.. If its just shipping smeg on top-- then that will come off..

Did your RT come with a plastic cover that you had to peel off? Looks like stick-em smeg to me..Id bet the heat from your good just got it funky... Id hit it with some kitchen SS cleaner and see what happens.. Put a bit of elbow into it-- its steel-- your not going to hurt it..

OK so added a routine to alexa.. So when i say " alexa,turn on the grill" the grill is turned on and i get a announcement on both my phone (using the alexa app) and also out of my alexa in the house.. So this way if im out and about and all of a sudden i hear "the grill has been turned on" i can...

The grills are great-- so your going to love yours... Everyone was mad cause RT turned off a feature that a LOT of us really liked --- the remote start.... But the work around seems to work just as well if not better (smartlife app)... So things have toned down... EnJoy your new toy..

The SL app doesnt graph the temp but it does show the set temp and the current temp.. It also shows auger speed... So far i havnet been able to get a temp alert but i think there is a way to do it with ifttt... I wonder if we can use ifTTT to turn on the grill ? Cause ifttt does do rich alerts..

Ive already removed the App.. So hoping that will do it... But my one question is if there is a "call home" from the wifi unit in the RT -- just for firmware updates... My thought is to figure out RT's IP address from emails ect-- and just put a block in my router for that IP...

Im thinking about using some heavy duty velcro with sticky back... LIttle piece on the inside of the RT area and a bit on the back of the shelly.. Bam.. That way you can easily remove the Shelly if it needs to be fussed with..
