I had a lot of quality issues with my 1250, too. Eventually got a replacement grill but it had just as many issues as my first. There were half a dozen QA stickers on the grill. Wonder what they were QA’ing? Not impressed with recteq.

Since it's a new smoker, I'd also call RecTeq to at least start a record of your issue.

I don't buy Adam's explanation about the probe cover. It's like an inch in diameter. You'd have to have a blower directly plugged in to it for what Adam said to happen.
