Bull My PCS Rackworks Experience

OK - three cooking uses for non-cooking tools.... (maybe this should be it's own thread?)

1.5" drill bit - perfect for coring cabbage if you're pickling it. Fill the hole with salt before you put it in the barrel.
2" hole saw - perfect for coring red bell peppers. Handheld is fine - sure blazes through bushels of them in no time and then there's I think a 1" bit for these before you fill them with a walnut/sugar filling.

Despite my best efforts to not drive this thread further off track from the OP, back in the earlier days of bomb squad stuff, we used to use a little tube that held a shotgun primer and a spring loaded center punch to initiate our firing train and detonation. It was simple, elegant, and reliable. Now all of the cool kids use electronic initiators (which are also good), but there was a certain elegance and simplicity of banging the center punch into the shotgun primer to get the desired results. I have several of the punches in my collection...some in the requisite tactical black (which always costs about 4 times more than the hardware store variety).
