    I threw on a small brisket flat this morning and checked the probe. Its standing nice and straight. What I did notice is that it had a pretty good coating of the black stuff that covers the inside of the grill. I cleaned it up and got it back to mostly silver again.

    Power Cord Storage

    On the 700, I drape the cord over the top of the hopper and feed the plug through the loop handle on the hopper lid. I roll my grill in and out the garage for every cook. This method keeps the cord off the ground and out of the way when moving the grill.

    I made the same bacon a few weeks ago and really like the results. Like your's my edges got a little dark from the maple syrup. Doesn't fry up quite as crisp as commercial bacon which is fine with me but my wife and son like their bacon a little firmer.
