Do you know what year the “before” and “after were? Mine is about 4-4.5 years old. Just acquired it and haven’t run it yet. Waiting on some parts before I start it up. Just curious if I should buy the faster auger if mine may have the slower one.
Yeah
overtime. Just bought a used 590 and I work for a mechanical company and have a guy in our metal shop making a stainless rain guard for it. But I like how these look they just seemed chincy. Still undecided what way I’ll go. I’ll have to drill holes for the rain guard these I won’t.
How did you confirm what rpm it was? I bought my 590 used and want to know what it’s got. Just acquired it couple weeks back. It is about 4-4.5 years old
I did try that. Didn’t work. It’s actually not bent properly. Putting a miter gauge on it the bottom is true 45 degree and the top is less. More like 38-42. Causing the top to travel downward to the top of the grill when flat on the bottom. Oh well I’ll gasket both the lid and the barrel side...
Just contacted them about a new lid cause mine is not bent properly from factory. My problem is I bought it second hand. I mentioned trying to seal the lid tk them and they said no don’t. I kept the gasket is causing it to not seal. I clearly used and angle finder and it’s not a 45 degree angle...
Well I’ve yet to use I have bought it second hand. Hoping to try to get this all resolved before using it. Still have my bullseye! But for now been messing with the lid for days. Cut little shims filled out the holes had lid support made at sheet metal shop I work for ect.. been a pain in the...
You are correct the lid is not the correct angle. I am the second owner of the unit so I doubt they’ll send me a lid. I’ll reach out but the top portion needs to be opened up a little. Afraid if I try I’ll crack the porcelain paint and it’ll be ruined.
Was your lid formed good to the smoker? Bought a second hand 590 and trying to seal the lid. Not much luck as the bends aren’t excatly 45s. Original owner didn’t seal it and took me forever to clean it up. Was hoping to keep it clean for years to come. Afraid to try and bend it as it might mess...
