Select Bear Mountain Pellets at Walmart

I have used them at about a 40% ratio. I like them as they give off a slightly weak charcoal flavor. Sorta reminiscence of the old charcoal days.

    All sounds good to me.

So did I make a bad decision ?

Welcome! I have been with Recteq for six years now and have watched them grow exponentially. I'm up to three Recteq grills now. You couldn't have joined at a better time. The new grills are much improved now. Not that they were bad before. Just more finely tuned you might say now, and a...

Offset’s to pellet should of done it sooner

I've never had a stick burner. Plenty of charcoals though. I watched a YT video recently of a guy showing how to startup a stick burner and run it. It took him well over an hour to get an all-oak fire ready to his liking to cook some steaks. I'll always keep my Kamado Joe. I just add to my...

    Babyback Ribs

Both look great! I no longer wrap mine. I rub them and then cook at 275° for three hours without opening the lid. After three hours I put some sauce on and cook them for another hour. They come out tender and smokey good in only four hours. I always use 100% hickory on pork.

    Alarm settings in App?

It used to be awesome. You could set the alarm temp to whatever you wished it to be. I always set mine to 5° and that would give me plenty of time to advert a disaster on overnight cooks. Then they went to a fixed 15° alarm with no say from the end-user. Now I have no idea if there is an...

    Bullseye Question about patio 410

Now six years in with two Recteqs I always leave the lids closed when lighting. Now, to do this means monitoring the progress closely so there are no snafus lighting until lit. I even have a gasket around my lid on the 700. There's nothing wrong with leaving the lid open when lighting. You...

    Puppy Proofed RT-700

Very nice modifications! I had a chewer of electric blanket cords. I put a cord plugged into a 24 VAC transformer with exposed male plug under the bed. It took the little Yorkie two bites to figure it out. He walked way around every electric cord in the house for years after that.

Bull To seal or not to seal

Yes, you definitely will have better smoke flavor, and more even grate temps as well. No need to rotate meats around anymore either. I also sealed the pellet hopper lid to help with potential backdraft and hopper smoke. For the lid, get the replacement gasket on Amazon that is for a Vision...

Bull Grease Fire in My Bull! What did I do wrong

WOW, sorry. I cook full packs of thick cut bacon on my 700 all the time. I use the grilling mats from RTQ. I cook them at 375° for 12 to 17 minutes depending on crispness desired. I always scrape the drip tray before these type cooks. I have never had a grease fire in over five years now...

Bullseye Bullseye Deluxe is a POS

It was a mistake for RTQ to try and add temp control to a Bullseye. They only did this because of the whiners wanting temp control like the 700. The original Bullseye was designed for some open lid grilling capabilities. I have an original Bullseye. I would never part with it. It is the...

    Kumado vs 1250

I have an RT-700, Bullseye and a connected Kamado Joe. You can't beat the flavor and searing capabilities of the KJ along with the ability to add wood chunks for flavor. You can't beat the room and overnight smoking consistency for briskets and butts on the 700. You can't beat the quick to...
