700....family of 4 but often cook for 10-12. I'm coming from a bullet and a Daniel Boone. I can totally see having the 1250 but the 700 should do me well enough though last week I did 5 salmon fillets and it was basically full, so it's not like the 700 is grossly huge.

Hello all. New owner here, just took delivery and spent the last couple hours assembling. Probably do a burn out tomorrow. I found this lock nut rolling around in the firepot. Just want to make sure it's not important as I don't see these in use anywhere else on the smoker.

How long was that cook? I haven't done a whole bird in years because most my family wont eat dark meat but the idea of a spatchcock turkey sounds great.
