RT-1250 advice with new purchase - RT-1250 vs. Traeger 1300

I have had several Traeger’s over years. Was happy with all of them. Then went to a 590 about 7 years ago. I like the build quality better and the contoller has been spot on. If I had to buy again I would go Reteq.

Stampede Controller Dead After 10 Months

I have had mine for 8+ years now. Lived in Spokane WA with cold winters, lived in Lk Havasu City AZ with nothing but heat and sun, now in Hilton Head SC going on three years. Hot and humid. Always outside under a covered porch until SC. Now outside with only a fabric cover. I have never had...

Bull ND cold weather and not reaching temp

I have posted this before: When I lived in Spokane, I put fire brick in my Treager. It gave it some thermal mass and kept the temp regulated much better in the cold and wind. Would help my grill to get and maintain a higher temperature in the winter. I am now in Arizona with a much better...

    Bull Wind temp issues

When I lived in Spokane, I put fire brick in my Treager. I would give it some thermal mass and keep the temp regulated much better in the cold and wind. Would also help my grill to get and maintain a higher temperature in the winter. I am now in Arizona with a much better RecTec Stampede...

    App temperature alarm.

You are correct. It is not working. RECTEC has a beta software out that users are testing and providing feedback on what works, does not work or would like to see implemented. This has been going on for several weeks. I do not know what, or when changes will be made or when a new update to the...

    Poultry Roasted Duck & Chicken

The Duck turned out good, not great, but good. I ended cooking it for just short of 6 hours pulling it out at 175 degrees. The flavor was very good. The meat was done, tender and very moist, but the skin was not as crisp as I would like. I think with a little more time (maybe another 30...

    Poultry Roasted Duck & Chicken

This is the first time I have tried roasting a duck. I scored the skin, filled the interior with citrus (Orange, Lemon and Lime). Put it on the grill at 250 planing on around a 5+ hour cook (I have my temperature probe in to make sure I have a backup to time alone). Then put salt and Maple...

    Pork Pork Roast

What you see is a grate cover. They are aluminum foil formed to fit over the factory grates. They come in a package of 12. I purchased mine at HD. The just make it much easier to clean the grates. You just pull them off and throw away when the get nasty.

    Pork Pork Roast

Put on a Pork roast at 10;00 this AM. Simple home made rub and Olive oil. Will smoke at 225 for about 4 hrs, then wrap in foil with a little apple juice for another 3 hrs. Pull from the foil and cook at 300 for another hour. My mouth is watering already. Also smoking some thick sliced Bacon...

Bull Replacement meat probes..........and some gripes.

I was in Walmart yesterday and saw they sell temperature probes with the 3mm plugs. The price was $8.89 for two. I did not take a close look st them, but you might want to check it out.

    Pork Smoked Pork Roast

I have found with pork roasts it stayed sliceable although I needed my good sharp knife to keep it from starting to shred. I have cooked them at a lower finished temperature which keeps it firmer, but this comes out with much more flavor throughout the meat.

Stampede Temperature on Rec Tec Stampede is off

I had the same problem when I received my Stampede. I forgot how to fix it, but I called Rec Tec and they walked me through it. Problem was solved. Great customer service.

    Pork Smoked Pork Roast

Last night I decided to try something different with a Pork roast on my Rec Tec Stampede grill. I usually will make a rub, put it on and refrigerate over night then smoke/cook (Low and Slow) the following day. While these always turn out quite well, I never found the flavor I was looking for...
