I did it today as drawn. 1. No the angle doesn't get over the pan 2. Slight interference with the Recteq griddle. I'm happy with the result. Time will tell. I'm on the fence about rtv. Creosote will eventually fill in gaps.

Who's got pics of the sear these get you. I haven't decided if I'm satisfied with the sear from the SS grates on my 700.

Sounds like a fun project. I know little about using a pi but this may be my motivation to learn!

I wouldn't say I regret my purchase but haven't had my 700 long enough to be a reliable source. I do know that I see lots of Recteq love from some and a fair bit of shade thrown at those who are critical. I feel like I'd have saved some $ and purchased a Weber Smokefire if I dug in to these...

After seeing others complain about the new app screwing with feed rate, I checked the app which said 30 and wouldn't reduce it back to 20. Menu on the Bull said the same. Come to find out that trying to reduce it in the app changed it on the smoker to 30 as indicated in the app. Just viewing...

Did this today. 79 Deg ambient to 400 in 15 minutes! It also seems to hold low at 180 with feed set to 15. The shaft on my motor from Recteq only had one hold but it was in the correct place. No trouble ordering it online.
