    recteq grills uncovered

I used 1/2" door- window insulating foam stuck to the underside of the lid after an afternoon gully washer. One clogged auger is enough for any one man to deal with. Nada, zilch, none, 2 yrs and clog free.

    RecTeqForum Re-Organization - Feedback appreciated!

Organization ain't my long suit. With formalities outta the way, using a commercial v recreational user system would separate some of the larger smoker users from the casual guys and gals. I generally cook for 2-4 people so my bullseye is adequate. However, the bigger the unit the more meat ya...

Having a VERY HARD time getting Bullseye dialed in

I'm kinda that one guy. Set to 500, once temp says 400 set to low. If you don't have 195-200 after 20 mins on the readout put an oven thermometer in and after 10 mins check the thermometer. Take pics of both and compare. Try a couple times. Dial feed up or down then call recteq and tell'em it's...

    Bullseye Bullseye Ribeyes

Air dry in fridge 4hrs. 190* low setting 30 min. Gives a little smoke and starts fat release. Rest until Bull reaches 690-700 on riot. This baby is hot so use long turning fork if you absolutely need to turn. Most times 8-9 min and they're med rare and good to go with no turn. I add 1 handful of...

Stampede Starting up in cold weather

Montana grilling at -20 to 110. Smoke caused by the cold air contraction. As the 1, 2, or 4 initial pellets heat up their moisture is pushed out and contracts keeping flame from blossoming. Does this in my RT on the porch and the pellet stove in the garage. Can get pretty dense before flame...

    Recteq’s Cold Weather Cooking Tip

Living in Montana allows me to cook at extremes. And everyday is a good day to use my Bull. No special needs just get it going an keep your hood vents cleaned out. Airflow very important. Great cooking New Year to ya.

Bullseye Found this in the hopper today.

Experienced somewhat same problem. The auger is hard to take out and clean. A stiff wire ran in from the fire pit works just have to be patient. Decided that the fire pit gets water in it and the pellets soak it up. Had my son, with a bullseye in Houston tell me BS. Then a yr later and a move...

    Stampede Water in hopper?

Weatherstrip the hopper lid. 1/2" foam strip does the trick. Apply to the lid and it seals really well.

    Bullseye Water got in

Removing the auger is a time consumer. But, it solves the problem. A cover is good unless your cooking an get a serious thunderstorm. I put some foam weatherstripping inside the hopper lid to form a seal. Couldn't tell ya if it works. Haven't had another drenching.
