I see that Z Grills has a deal that if you buy a grill for I believe $777, you get a new smoker, every 5 years, for 50 years for free. Now being almost 64 years old, I really doubt I have another 50 years in me, but nonetheless, it's a pretty good darn good deal. I don't know much about them. One thing I always worry about with companies other than ReqTec, is their customer service. ReqTec is pretty hard to beat.

The problem I see with this approach is that given today’s business climate, it is unlikely that Z Grills (or, most any other grill manufacturer) will be around for 50 years.

The main Z-grills website deal is buy one (of several grill versions) now for $777, and get one "free" every 5 years for 50 years for a max total of 10 grills, where you only have to pay $100 shipping for each of the other nine new grills over that period.

So even in the extreme bummer case if they went out of business, say, six years from now and you only had the chance to get one "free" grill, that's still 2 grills in six years for $877. Another way to look at it is over the course of 50 years you'd get 10 shiny new grills for a total of $1677. That's mostly in today's dollars, and we all know materials and shipping won't get cheaper over time. Seems like a pretty good deal to me.

They also have a couple other options where you can pay a little more up front and get 2 or 3 grills now, then have the same deal for the remaining ones up to 10 total.

And apparently this is all giftable and transferable, for those of us on the wrong side of the actuary table.
