Where are the Costco prime meats?

Oh! It appeared to me that all beef prices were up. Brisket flat was $7.99/lb. 😳

I’m just looking for the paper towels at Costco-no luck! JK, but I’m seeing so many pictures of Costco stores just overwhelmed this week. Is no one here seeing that at their stores?

Today no toilet paper or paper towels in my Costco. I think I saw one pallet of water when there’s usually many. So the resources are thin from the storm getting supplies to the affected areas and maybe the strike. I think I read the strike is over so that’s a good thing for our country.

@Greg Jones …that’s why I went there today in the first place. Here in Charleston, there’s absolutely no bathroom tissue nor paper towels. Most of the bottled water was gone too.

It’d be easy enough to blame hoarders for buying it all in light of the dock workers (ILA) strike. But I really think most of it was bought up to send to the devastated areas in northwest SC, western NC, East Tennessee, and the northeast corner of GA. I know there’s a lot of groups going up there with supplies, equipment, and muscle to help those folks. In many advertisements for supporting these efforts, they’re asking for those paper products and water. So I’m believing most of it is going to help those in need in those devastated areas.

For Charleston, helping these folks is part of our payback for all the areas and people that helped us in the aftermath of Hurricane Hugo in 1989. We did the same after Hurricane Katrina and other storms. And while I’m familiar with and aware of the groups heading to the areas I mentioned before, I’m sure there are folks also heading down towards the Florida Gulf coast and southern Georgia…if not from CHS then from other areas in the region. One group from CHS just got back from Vidalia GA before resupplying and heading towards Asheville area. The need is great.

That said, I’m sure there are some that are/were trying to stock up because of the prognostications of shortages due to the strike.

God Bless the souls lost in this hurricane and the survivors that have lost their homes and, possibly, loved ones. I hope and pray that every one of them get the help they need as quickly as possible. 🙏🏼

Yes, the panic mode buying has started much like the vid days.

We are seeing the same efforts to help from folks here in the Beaufort area. People who endure these catastrophic events are pretty thankful for the relief they received and are quite willing to pay it back when others need help. Haven’t been to a Sam’s or a Costco lately, but my grocery store was pretty depleted already as people prepped for the storm.

I saw some FD headed to impacted areas with supplies and they were asking others to do the same and do it weekly in repayment for assistance to them after a catastrophic tornado event. Pretty awesome!
