This is my grilling area as now.
Just wanting to see what everyone else’s looks like to see where I could improve.

Looks nice! Mine is still evolving, this summer I added pavers and a retaining wall under my deck (which is also the entrance to my woodworking shop) and I haven’t finalized what I want to do with the space. On the deck above, which is right outside my kitchen, I have a table, 4 chairs, a large umbrella, the Matador, and the Bullseye. Off to the side of the new lower space I have my BGE, the Bull, a Camp Chef dual gas burner, and my Blackstone. Nice thread, I’ll be interested in seeing what others are doing.

Wow, that is first class. have not designed or built mine yet but most likely it will be a sheet of particle board with the RT carpet on top in the gravel next to my covered patio. I will post a picture as soon as the construction project is done.

Here goes. Electrical plug on the left. The wheel tracks are from doing my burn in, it will look better with the board and RT mat im sure.

OH, the grill is not out there yet do to monsoon storm and I do not have my cover for it yet. It is still sitting in my kitchen.

Thank you,
I rent, so there’s not a lot I can do, build in wise, but I tried to make it as close as I can to what I want. It will be continuing to evolve. I plan on adding a few more Recteq grills. I know it seems like I have enough, but I use everyone of my grills often. We barely cook inside anymore. Plus it’s a great place to drink, drink drink!😂🍺

It's a pretty small deck that's filling up fast. I got the small Traeger as a Christmas gift back in 2017. After I had used it twice, my dad wanted to get one like it so I talked him into buying the bigger Traeger, I gave him the extra $200, and he took home to still-new smaller smoker. The gasser is a four-burner CharBroil with GrillGrates, does a great job. Bought the Blackstone 36" griddle for Fathers Day in 2020. Love it! Finally got the RecTeq 700 Bull after an issue with getting the fire started in Traeger Pro-22, keeping guests waiting about 45 minutes. Ordered Bull on Friday, got here the next Thursday. I love the consistent temps!

How do you keep water from dripping from your deck onto your lower level kitchen? Or perhaps you don’t? That‘s what I struggling with right now.

My deck, before I built the paver/patio addition earlier this summer.

@ryk1 - thanks! I just finished the customization of the stampede today actually. The build is on this link. Best part was, no extra holes drilled in anything at all, so fully in warranty. Total cost for all the work was under $100 for the diamond plate and the shelf.

@Greg Jones - dang good question!

I actually used something called galv-alum which is used in caustic environments like seasides. It was a freebie from a buddy, but you can use any metal roofing.

My deal was that I secured the metal to the deck joists using self-tapping metal roofing screws and the neoprene washers. Every other joist I dropped secured the metal.again, but made it pitch a 1/2" lower using some ripped down 2x4s. Over the width of it, it drops about 4-5" from the starting point.

The panels overlap by 6" with a healthy bead of silicon to prevent leaks.

The ends run into the short gutters someone made for me.

Overtop of the main beam where the overhang / cantilever is, I cut some metal flashing to reduce the drips on the bar from overhead. Not great, but it works. Did the same thing against the bandboard of the house to help water flow away from the house as well. That part is very effective.

It keeps me dry, and grilling and smoking year round. You can do the same thing with any metal roofing, or even plastic panels (not sure of their durability.). Landscape around, or add some blinds, and you're set!

@Greg Jones - there's also something out there I came across ages ago called DekDrain. Great for new construction of decks before the boards go down. For me - backyard engineering does just dandy.
Backyard engineering works best for me! Thanks SO much for sharing this info-I’m going study hard on how I can incorporate this into my space!
