Yesterday I received my RT-700 and during assembly noticed the weld by the grease spout was not sealed. You can see light leaking from the outside in the photo. I wondered if that was normal or if I should get some High-Temp Red RTV Silicone? Thanks, and can't wait to start cooking on this beauty!

Thanks everyone. RT Support said it is is normal and nothing to be concerned about.

If you're are concerned, silicone it now before the seam gets dirty.

There seem to be two major types of people- those who view the smoke reside on their grill as an inevitability or a badge of honor, and those who want to keep their grill (in this case, the exterior of the grill) as clean as possible.

If you fall into the latter camp, high temp sealant will be your friend.
