Just checked on the shipping status of my sealer and it arrives Monday. Also noticed the price went up to $1,180, so I suppose we can guess where the country of origin is. Still happy to have saved nearly $450 off the now current price. Buckle up, tariff pricing has arrived.

And, according to my customs broker son, “we ain’t seen nuthin’ yet.” He thinks importers will cut back on their orders until there’s more clarity, and we’ll see some shortages in the near term. Hopefully, things will smooth out soon.

I was at my local Costco yesterday and there was almost no toilet paper or paper towels visible. Not sure if they had more back out of sight somewhere, but there were literally a half-dozen packages of each on the floor. Usually, there are 3-4 pallets full.

IIRC, most of those products come from Canada (at least for our area of the country) and, right now, things are pretty tense between us and Canada over the tariffs. I do know that cross-border shopping and travel by the Canadians has dropped off very significantly.

Looks huge
They make a larger one. UPS drivers have a policy that they are not to drive into driveways here. Sandy soil to turn around in, and far too many Karens that complain when they do. Our drive is over 100 yards long and I watched our driver rucked this box to the front door on one shoulder like he was in an NFL tryout! Offered to bring it indoors because, I apparently didn’t look, well never mind. Told him to drive down the damn drive next time and no one here will complain to UPS HQ when he turns around in the yard! Some people are still seriously good at their job.

Let us know how it works for you.

With my affection for all things power tools, that's just got a lot of cool factor.

I hate to ask, but you know me; I like American-made products. Has anyone found an affordable (sub-$1.5K) Made-in-USA chamber vac sealer? All the ones I’m finding are made in Ch…well, you know. And, with the 125% tariffs…well, again; you know.

Confirmed, made in China. BTW, MEAT!, Smith & Wesson, grilla grills, and several other brands are owned by American Outdoor Brands. I hadn’t heard of them before now, and didn’t know that S&W is no longer independent.

Not related to American made heat sealer but I did get my 100 ft. 12/3 American made exention cord today, well actually late last night. @ $.057/ft. No tarrifs and less than the 50 ft. 12/3, which I bought several years ago, which is twice as much per ft. Also tarrif free.

@Greg Jones , S&W is an independent company, publicly traded on nasdaq, and headquartered in Maryville, TN. S&W spun off from AOB in 2020.

I recall news of that in the day, and indeed I have confirmed that S&W is an independent company spun off from AOB. Interestingly, AOB still lists S&W as one of its brands, which is why I stated that. Thanks for the update!

Yeah, because I was dreading having to find replacements for Smitty and Wes in my “fire-related cooking tool” arsenal. Y’all know my strong preference for American-made cooking tools. 🙄
Yup, I, and my wife, would have some serious voids in the safes if S&W and cousin Dan were banished from the house!

I must admit I also like several of the tools from my Wifes Rottie name sake Ruger and also like Colt. Last I checked Ruget is still American made with uh facilities in Ct And NC. I have not checked in on Colt in a minute. I have a few of those fire side tools.
