Using a UPS on a TB-340

I read on the RecTec website that during startup our smokers use about 350 watts , then drop to about 100 watts. Has anyone kept a small 500-1000 VA UPS inline in case of a power outage? I know people are using an inverter with a 12 volt battery for dry camping and power outages, But due to the Trailblazer being so small I really don't want to put a heavy battery in the lower rack. If power does go out, I would have some time to get the small generator going and then just plug into the UPS until the power comes back on.
Thanks
