Turkey probe placement

I always aim for the thickest part of the breast as they describe. I'll probably stick a second probe in the thigh, just for a little more information.

Good Morning folks,
I don't cook a lot of turkey and I usually put the probe in the thigh area just like chicken. Thermoworks says this is incorrect.

It states turkeys actually go in horizontal near the neck ?? What are your thoughts on turkey probe placement.

Happy turkey day everyone !!

I put a probe in the thickest part of the turkey and then use my Thermoworks pen to spot check, usually in the other side of the breast and a leg.

So, I'm 3/4 the way thru my cook, the drums are running 30-40F hotter than the thighs. The Lower part of the breasts are 20F lower than the thighs. My probes are in the breast and thigh. I'm always using my Thermapens though. Probes are just to keep me from getting caught overcooking.
