Trouble with app upgrade using Android

Good afternoon. My son has an Apple and IOS runs the new app upgrade flawlessly. My Android device stays on version 1.7.1 (294). Has anyone found a way to circumvent this issue? TIA

1.7.1 is the latest android version.

The iOS has the full changed version. We (Android) have to wait for the rest of it.
I believe 1.7.1 just added the the support for the new 1250 model so far.
