Hello,

Is there a post someone can lead me to or can someone offer a list of supplies to buy for a new RT-700 owner?

Brands/types are appreciated too (eg is there a width/thickness of paper and/or foil)?

Items I’ve seen include:

- Paper wrap / size / brand
- Foil / size
- drip bucket liner (brand/size?)
- tongs
- gloves
- shredding tools
- brisket knife
- instant read thermometers
- end cut butchers board
- cooler for resting
- Apron w/pockets (brands?)
- any other items?

I have:
RT-700
Cover
Sear Kit
Inside Shelf
Outside shelf
Pellet package
Bucket Head / Orange buckets

Thank you all 😊
Missy

Here are a few of the items from your list:

Paper - Amazon has a bunch. Just make sure you compare width and length. I usually get 18” wide.

Foil - Kirkland (Costco) heavy duty foil by Reynolds. One roll will last you quite a while.

Drip bucket liner - I use these LINK Others use spaghetti sauce jars and some just put foil in the drip bucket.

Gloves - I use nitrile gloves with cotton liners if I need to. You can get them on Amazon, Walmart or even Harbor Freight.

Brisket knife - I have a couple fancy ones but default to my Dexter or a cheap First Street knife from a local supply store. I wouldn’t sprang a bunch of money on a brisket knife until you feel like you are missing something.

Instant read thermometers - I have a cheap $15ish thermometer and a Thermapen Mk4 my kids got me for Christmas. The cheap one is just as accurate but a couple of seconds slower. I do use the Thermapen most of the time but keep the other as a backup. If you go Thermapen wait for a sale. They have them fairly frequently.

Cooler - I use a Coleman Stackable LINK

Benzomatic MAP gas torch from Home Depot and a flared sear head from Amazon. https://amzn.to/34xv0ze

This will sear at a much higher temp 3200 degrees quicker which is better for a reverse sear, like restaurants do. You use MAP gas which burns clean and you won’t get ANY aftertaste from the gas.

Oh boy, this thread will be trouble.
Be prepared to start spending more money. Lol
