Hi All Did a low smoke for 5 hrs today, after shut down the grill was cool, but smoke still was coming up from the drip pan.. I took every thing out and and low N behold there were pellets smoldering in the fire pot..I've never seen that happen before. Has this happen to anyone else? Normal?
Thanks Dan

Dan, I have seen this also. It‘s kind of scary but usually appears after I do a high heat sear Or cook and shutting the grill off without resetting the temp down into the 200 range. I assume the partially filled fire pot with smoldering pellets is the culprit as mentioned by ModernRec.

I've seen it most after a higher temp cook. I believe leftover ash in the firepot can also contribute. I tend to run my RT-700 on LO for a few minutes before starting shutdown if I've been over 300°F.
