If it were me I would just use it.. they have the pics and know.

I’m sure they will understand getting it back that way.

I will say the “free gift” is a nice offer. I had a similar issue with a few dents in my matador lid (not really a huge deal). They offered a new lid or a free gift. I asked about the gift and it’s essentially any accessory within reason; sear grate, mat, cover, griddle…

I chose the griddle. Was a nice offer as I thought it would be some rub or something at a $10 price point

Update #2: I just processed the exchange and the rep so I could use it if I wanted to (his idea). All I have to do is make sure if fits in the original box when getting it ready to return. Very nice!

Update: I called RT and confirmed this is not normal.

I was given the choice of:
1. Exchanging for another grill
2. Attempting to straighten on my own and receiving a free gift

New question: what are your thoughts on my ability to straighten this adequately?

Why don't you ask them if you can attempt to straighten it and if you're satisfied, then take the gift, and if you can't fix it adequately, then exchange it. They might go for that as they're not risking anything additional.
