I’m not sure why this suddenly “clicked” in my head but does this mean I can take wood chunks and place on top of the deflector for added smoke? Or am I interpreting this wrong?

Thanks!

I did some salmon a couple nights ago and tossed some alder chips on like that and it does give some alternate/additional smoke which I could smell coming out the vents, but really didn't taste it on the fish. Not sure what that means yet, perhaps needed more than the dozen or so I tossed on there. Experimentation...……………………...

I haven't done it myself, but I have heard of a few people that have done this.
