Bullseye Spacing on grill

New to Bullseye. The spacing on the grill surface seems much wider than I'm used to with burgers and boneless chicken thighs occasionally falling through the slots. Any advice.

Also any comments on the sear kit. Looks interesting.

@mabpath how small are these burgers and thighs that you are cooking? You shouldn't have any issue cooking either on the RecTeq Bullseye.

I have a GrillGrate sear kit myself and highly recommend it. It provides a lot more flexibility and options when cooking than the regular grill surface. I would suppose this would also fix your issue with small burgers falling through the cracks too.
 
I haven’t had problems with burgers or wings falling through but I bought THIS cast iron grate to replace the stock grate and I never use my GrillGrates anymore (or my stock grate).

I have same grill grate(cast iron). I almost exclusively use this grate. Though I have found out if I want to use the grill grate brand(searing plates), I switch back to the OG grate b/c of air flow. Air flow is key with the bullseye - thus it is a must to keep the vents clear and even every once in a while scrape the lids as build up starts over time.

There is also a stainless steel versions that work on the bullseye. I think big daddy grills sells one a lot of folks have gotten. Anything that fits on a weber 22.5 inch kettle will work with the bullseye which is really nice!

I see the cast is covered in porcelain enamel? I am sure that makes for easierclean ups. How's the porcelain enamel itself holding up? Any noticeable cracking/breaking or flaking pieces of porcelain? I am leaning toward purchasing one of these, but have higher confidence in experience and recommendations expressed in this forum. Appreciate your feedback or that from others who have experience with thesegrates.

It has held up flawlessly. I really like the grate and think Recteq is missing out by not offering it as an upgrade / accessory. The only “issue” is cleaning inside the edges of the holes in the grate. It took me a minute to find a brush to get inside the holes that would clean the bigger chunks off. I’d definitely buy it again. Below is a picture of the sear I get from the cast iron.

A cheaper simple solution would be to buy a second 22" grate (such as Weber) and set it over the original grate, just at a 90 degree turn so you'd have a crosshatch pattern with the bars.

Much harder to lose a chicken thigh that way, too.
