I had the TV on most of the night and was watching before the sun was up. It's been an incredible tragedy for thousands.

I'm about 20 miles south from the Palisades and 30 from the Eaton (Altadena) fire. We're getting really heavy ash fallout and the smell of smoke is strong. Where I'm at the wind is fairly light for now. But I have have a friend up in LaCrescenta that lost power through the night and had hurricane force winds. Her house is just inside the west end of the Eaton fire evac warning zone and was still at home a few hours ago. She had an inoperative vehicle until she bled the clutch last night. Now she thinks it will get her out, if needed. I offered to let her stay at our place, but she has friends closer.

I think our member Beth, is up near the evac warning area, but not in it. She is likely getting a lot of smoke and ash.

The air 20-30 miles south where I live is brown and it burns your throat. We didn't do our daily 2 mile walk with the dog yesterday and likely won't until this air clears up.

Just seeing where the various fires have started, I'm beginning to think it's arson. It's just getting hard to believe in the coincidence of timing and location to do the most damage, especially after seeing the Hollywood (Sunset) fire start last night. It started on the Runyan canyon hiking trail at the top, where it burned down toward the city.

That stuff on my wife's white car is ash.

I was wondering that myself. With these fires just popping up here and there, it is hard to imagine that they were all started naturally. Please stay safe, and take care of yourself, your loved ones, friends and neighbors.
