Hello all, I’m still in the hospital as of Sunday. Going on day 5. I have clots in my lungs and one in my leg. Along with pneumonia. They have me on thinners and that is taking time to adjust. They are not sure when I will be released. I’m hoping by Tuesday. Thank you all for your thoughts. It is hard to be in here for so long. I’m getting through though. I just keep thinking of that smoker and getting to live life again. Covid can’t hold me down forever.

Thanks, for the update, @Caps_Shield; we’re all thinking about you and wishing you a quick and complete recovery. This Covid stuff is not a walk in the park as some would have us believe. Glad to hear that you are working your way through it.

That’s very good news, @Caps_Shield, but as others have suggested, ease back into your normal routine. We don’t want to find you back in the ER because you overdid it.

I’m sure a moderate assembly schedule of the new grill will be OK as long as you get some help doing any heavy lifting, etc. Just take it slow and easy. You’ll be grillin’ and smokin’ with the best of us soon…if you behave yourself.

Good to hear you are out. The medical degree I picked up at a correspondence school I found on the back of a pack of matches in the Grand Cayman islands, requires me to give you the following prescription:

1) Stay in bed and listen to your doctor(s)
2) Work on your own degree at the University of Youtube‘s campus closest to your location
3) Select a major such as primal cooking, grill management, Cue for Pitmasters, or similar
4) Following your undergrad work, hit the Master’s program and take every TED course
5) If all else fails, adhere to number 1 above
6) If that fails, read every post on this site and provide a summary report for your thesis
7) Check with your doctor(s) and see if you are cleared to watch BBQ porn
8) Rest for at least 30 minutes in the refractory zone following each BBQ porn session
9) Repeat step 8 for as long as it takes to either watch every video or until well rested
10) Go back to steps 1 and 7
11) Get cleared and join us for an online Cue session/discussion

I had two procedures to stop internal bleeding. I’m here for a couple more days maybe then to a normal room for more time. It’s a long road ahead but as my family tells me, I can do it. And I have my wonderful smoker to actually open to look forward to.

No update since Tuesday......hope the OP is OK, the last place I would want to be these days is in a hospital......"wife and I both work in healthcare." Covid just doesn't work this way, I sincerely hope that all the appropriate tests and treatments are being implemented?

@Motodad1776 and everyone else. Thank you for thinking of me. I was just moved out of ICU and into a room. I think that is a good sign? I had an emergency CT late yesterday to see if I was still bleeding in my stomach and I’m not. Not sure the plan from here. I bet a learn more soon.
