Desserts Smoked Vanilla Ice Cream

Has anyone tried any of the smoked Ice Cream recipes that are around? I make homemade ice cream and it occurred to me that I could smoke the cream, then make the ice cream. Or possibly smoke bourbon and make smoked bourbon caramel sauce for my ice cream. Anyway, googled it and found that people do it! If you've tried it, how is it?

I have not smoked cream, but I smoke bourbon a lot. Comes out great and only takes about 1 hour or so.
