Screen cover

Do any of you guys cover the LCD screen with anything? Mine will be outside with no cover here in Phoenix. Rust is obviously not an issue here. But I know LCD screen eventually start fading from being pummeled with the sun's UV

Would a screen protector like those used on phones actually do anything?

I'd think if it isn't hit by direct sunlight it would be OK. If in doubt how about an old towel draped over it that will cover the screen?

It would likely get hit with direct sunlight.

I've seen grills at commercial places have a leather flap over their grill LCD's. But I haven't been able to find anything on google that is similar. My google fu has failed me.

I could take measurements between my 590 and 340 lcd areas and see if they are similar. I can probably model out a "shade" or angled cover to 3d print and act as a cover. Unless someone made a 3d model already.
