RT 1250 with competition cart,
RT MAT
RT COVER with custom zipper
Extra flame diffuser for a total of one cast Iron, one lighter metal
Extra drip pan

Works great, nothing wrong with it. Great condition. Always stored with its cover under an enclosed covered patio. I’m selling only because it is large and most of my bbq cooks are smaller. I use a RT 340 most of the time. These pics are old I’ll try to take a current pic ASAP

I don’t usually add my 2 cents to a for-sale post, but that looks like a pretty sweet deal waiting to happen for someone. I had a 340-I know which one I’d keep if I had to pick between the two, and I’m mostly cooking for two now myself. I suppose in a way I did just pick-gave my 340 to a neighbor and kept the 700 with competition cart.

I may be asking a lot but what’s the height between the top of the lower grate to the underside of the upper grate?

Similarly, what’s the height between the top of the upper grate and the edge of the lid opening?

I’m most interested in the clearance on each shelf. I want to be able to have 10-lb butts on each shelf and be able to slide them out with the meat clearing without touching whatever is above it.

…I’m not asking you to make direct 10lb butt would clear. I was describing that so you’ll understand why I’m asking for the heights on the shelves. That my big problem with my 700.

According to this post, the bottom shelf space is 5" tall and the upper shelf space is 4" tall. I can measure my RT1250 later today if needed.

According to the website there is 5” between the bottom and top grate leaving 4” above the top grate.

I wish the unit were larger in diameter or more oval shaped so as to increase the shelf height. I recall reading the newer units have done this.

I have no issues between the bottom and top shelf but its extremely difficult to get a larger piece of protein on the top shelf to the lid opening without hitting the lid opening.

I believe that is an aftermarket grate probe. Could be mistaken, but I think I see the RTD probe in the picture. My opinion doesn’t matter because I’m not in the market for a grill, but IMO a little clean-up of the interior would help display the details. Just sayin’

And that's been my problem with my 700 that I installed the PCS Rackworks shelves in. I purchased / installed the "full monty" (3 shelves). I found out that I'd probably only be able to use all three shelves if I cooked jerky...maybe (thin) ribs. :)

I had stopped at the RT Evans GA HQ back in August when I was driving back to CHS from somewhere in GA off I-20. I looked at both the Flagship 1100 and the Flagship XL 1400. Both of the "barrels" (chamber) are more oval shaped. And, off-hand, I can't remember what I measured the space between the shelves but I (vaguely) remember it being what I believe to be sufficient. I had emailed RT asking about the height between shelves on the 1100 but I can't find the email. But the salesperson did, indeed, send me the specs. My recollection is the 1400 and 1100 have the same shelf heights but the 1400 is wider.

I kind of feel the width of my 700 is plenty but really wish there was more height between shelves. I know I had a hard time cooking two 10-lb pork butts (on the middle shelf) and the full-packer brisket on the grates (took the bottom sliding shelf out) for my July 4th cook. As you mentioned, I had to push the butts down under the lid opening and they still almost touched the top of the barrel. Similarly, I had to smash the brisket on the bottom. I was not happy.

I say all that to point out what my interest would be in that 1250. Or, I may have to ENABLE myself and get the Flagship model. (Note: Thanks to @Jim6820 and you others that have burned ENABLED into my vocabulary and mindset. LOL )

I similarly went to Evans and peeped the 1100. When/if my 1250 ever dies I will move to the 1100. The larger/rounder barrel is definitely much better.
