I re-installed the 3 RPM auger motor on my Bull yesterday after getting my hands on the cast iron heat deflector (code name Unicorn). My old SS deflector was again warped after a test burn last week to correct the temp probe offset, even though the highest temp during that process was 300 degrees.
The minimum feed rate was adjusted to 2.0 % & the grill was run at Lo. It leveled out nicely at 180 degrees & maintained this without problem. I purposely waited until late afternoon with the deck in direct sun at about 90 degrees ambient temperature to check low temperature functionality. I've actually never run the grill at a temp this low during a cook, but the amount of sustained smoke production was impressive.
It's great that low & slow cooks will not be affected, but that I can break out the GrillGrates & crank up the temp to Full for larger fast cooks than my Bullseye Deluxe can handle.
