Smooker is not reaching the desired temperature outside temperatures are high.

Overshooting or undershooting?

What model do you have? What temp are you setting to? And are you saying the unit only gets to 90 degrees F? Or 90 degrees below what you’ve set the temp to? It would be helpful to know what the difference actually is.

The only recommendation I have without significantly more detail is to check your chamber temp probe and make sure it isn’t bent or otherwise touching some other metal that could act as a heat sink. Or gunk on it so thick it can accurately determine what the temp really is.

I agree with @TheRicker more info would be helpful. I have just the opposite problem. It’s been over 100 here for over two weeks and my grills are overshooting more before they settle back down. Keeping a Lo cook below 190 has been more difficult. Checking the RTD probe would be a good start.

Model 900. when the weather outside air temperature is above 90 degrees F, the chamber temperature does not reach 212 degrees.

Um, I know RT has new models but never heard of a 900, so I don’t think I can offer anything here.

Hmmmm. “New member” OP shows “RT-680” as his grill model and posts a question about a “Model 900.” One model hasn’t been made in several years and the other never was—at least, by RT. Something seems amiss here.

That’s two this week.

I think you guys might be assuming a bit much here that its AI, seems to me more likely its just someone struggling to use their computer! Or their mind ;)

I have an RT-1250, and temp was mid to high 90's. When it was cooler, I had no problem setting to 225 for long slow cooks.
Once it got hot, while being set to 225, I was consistently getting 250 and higher. I tried a few things, messed up my cook, etc.
Finally, I thought to lower the auger feed setting from 35 to 25, and now I'm having no issues keeping temp.
I'm wondering if I'll have to change it when winter comes...
