Plug Melted/electrical fire!!!….???

I think @SmokeZilla makes some good points. There doesn’t appear to be the level of plug body deformation I’d expect with a heat event. My recommendation is to carefully check the outlet for signs of corrosion and/or arcing. If the outlet is worn, corroded or has arc damage, you will be replacing the plug again soon.

Thanks for input. I’ll look under the side shelf too see if any visible damage. I can say the control panel has no damage and the buttons (membrane switch) are 100% intact. If it’s bad enough to evaporate the pins I would think they would go. But I’ll check. Should have time tomorrow to wire new plug. If it doesn’t power up I’ll see if they still over a replacement or see if fire board makes one.
One thing I would do moving forward is to install a GFI where it's plugged in. It should trip long before melting the power cord.

You need to check your extension cord also, both ends and the outlet it's plugged into. That plug has corroded to death, the poor thing suffered a long time and finally just had a massive heart attack! Low voltage, high resistance connection will harm motors, (blower). Get a good power source and replace the male (dead) plug on the grill power cord, cut the power cord back a few inches to check that the wires are not corroded/damaged. Hopefully your grill will be okay, even if not with the absence of no normal care it's been a good one. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
