My eyes are getting worse. I thought you were cooking a piranha.Picanha 2.75lbs
It’s going to be good Saturday.
First time cooking a Picanha.
I am open for recommendations.
I’m only using Salt & Pepper.
I'm cooking up a picanha on Tuesday, and your method is pretty much my plan, too (though I think I'll run it at 225F.......since there will be a brisket on with it anyway.) Let us know how it turns out! Thanks for the info
I’m gonna cook it like a roast style
180° three hours.
I. T. 125°
Then sear it for four minutes each side
Looks great, FH! Thanks for posting back with your results! The Picanha was perfect if I don’t say so myself. Ok so did the others.
The Bull ran perfect- I ran it at 200° for 3hrs seared it for 5 each side.
while I was searing it I was cooking the Shrimp oh it was a great dinner the family.
salt & pepper was all I put on it.
I scored the fat cap.
happy days.
My new favorite cut of meat!

It’s a great cut of meat. Either way I’m sure it’s gonna turn out great. Can’t wait to see what you do.Just got one can’t wait to cook it. Haven’t decided on whole or steaks.
I got mine from KOW Steaks in Iowa. They are pricey, really pricey, but the quality is great. Almost no trimming was needed on either cut, so that does drop the price per pound of what you actually cook a little. I had a nice discount code from attending recteq Academy or otherwise I probably would not have taken the plunge. That looks amazing. So cool that you did a side-by-side taste-tested.
I too enjoy a Tri-Tip. Where do you order your meat from?
