I know there a few threads on this, but hey, I have pictures!

I like the buckets with the screw-off (damn screw-offs) lids. 40 lbs of pellets will fit in two buckets with room to spare. I taped the kind of pellet to a bucket and then the other bucket with the same color contains the same kind of pellets.

I may have to get a third bucket to handle when I empty a bucket and order another 40 lb bag. If I do that I'll buy another lid of the required color.

The lids are Gamma Lids.

I have 3 of the same, although I paid a little more for food grade buckets. Did you mean to say 20# fits in two buckets, or 40# fits in two? I put an entire 20# bag in one bucket.

You are right! I edited my mistake.

The only thing that was difficult was getting the ring on the bucket. I ended up using a series of clamps and they went on much easier. The first just popped right on then some really fought me. I may have thrown a small tantrum on two of them.

We only use Alder in the Hooper, and here's our Pellet Storage:

For other Woods, we use 5 Gal Buckets like most everyone else

I like the screw top idea for the pails. If I’d known about that I probably would’ve went with pails, but this is what I use now and it works well.

I’m a newbie and picked up a food grade bucket with lid at Walmart when I grabbed some kingsford pellets but I really like the screw top/lid idea.

The Gamma screw lids as shown by @WonderMonkey are available individually (No bucket) at Lowe’s.

I’d love to hear what y’all do, if anything, about sifting or otherwise keeping the pellet dust from going in the hopper.
