Just a heads up.

Had peeling paint on the inside and outside of the bottom of the lid, bottom when closed.
Grill 1 year old, live in N.E. so it's pretty humid, keep it covered but out in the elements. Had Lavalock gasket installed on all sides, only used low and slow if it matters. The peeling paint was on the outside of the gasket, no peeling under it.

Did not inform RT, fairly quick and easy fix to disassemble, scrape off the gasket, scrape/clean the lid, sand, and repaint.

Images are after cleaning and scraping.

thats unexpected! hopefully mine doesn’t do that at 1 year. i was told paint is not warranted as long as the grill, maybe not at all? i have seen several peoples 680s painted black to match the current 700s. maybe they will have a good suggestion for repainting yours.

It would be nice if they used something like Weber's porcelain, but it's not. I used Rustoleum's Ultra High Heat. Time will tell how it holds up.
