Trying to assemble the Flagship 1100. But the screws to the access panel are flathead and are essentially welded on. No way to get them off without stripping them.. Any ideas to get them off so I can do the wiring?

So I assumed that some Flagship owner would have chimed in by now, but since they have not… I don’t have a Flagship, but I suspect the RT-700which I do own is similar. Why does the access panel need to be removed to assemble the Flagship?

The probe wires run from inside the grill to inside the controller. So the access panel has to be removed in order to connect them inside the controller. Thanks for responding. I did finally get them off with a specialized wrench. No thanks to Recteq support. Right now my first impression of them is less than admirable.

For the 700 I had to connect two female spade lug connectors but had zero problems opening the panel.

As a flagship owner I did not have to do this. Wonder if they changed something to make them cheaper.
