That’s funny stuff! I put mine on backwards when I built it. I quickly realized I was wrong. The issue was changed within the hour.

I can think of a reason to do that....
If you're under a certain height - standing center grill and opening the grill will get you a burnt forearm.
Horns out you can stand at the corner and pop the lid open without burning yourself.

That may be it! IIRC, “El Recteqo” was only about 5’3” tall.
