Hi there. I am a new member and have just ordered the RecTec stampede. I have been smoking for over 20 years on Propane Smokers and electric smokers and have never had a pellet smoker before. I did a ton of research before deciding on Rec Tec and it looks like the best thing out there for the buck. I hope to learn a lot here and I will post when I smoke things and they come out good. Welcome. You will find the people on this forum to be very helpful and loaded with knowledge and advice. I've had my 700 for three weeks and couldn't be happier with my decision. My history is about like yours, charcoal > propane > electric > RT 700 over the last 25 years. Good luck with your new grill.
