Stampede My First Smoker

I just ordered the RT-590 today. All my buddies have Traegers and have been cooking delicious meals for years so I finally decided to jump into the fray. Now I just need to decide on what my first cook should be. I'm thinking of starting with something simple like a tri-tip. Looking forward to searching for recipes, rubs, and sauces.

Welcome aboard! Tri-tip (real trip-tip) isn't common here in the East. Whatever you cook, have fun getting it dirty!

I may as well throw a couple racks of ribs on as well. Just read up an the 3-2-1 method. I didn't realize tri-tips were regional. That is a shame, it is one of our favorite family cuts.
