Movement of Flame Deflector

I was cooking pizza last night and the normal temperature and time led to burning. Used these settings many times before and I did not understand what changed. I cleaned the grill this morning and much to my surprise the flame deflector had moved and about half of the firepot was directly exposed to the drip pan. Anyone experience a mysterious motion of the flame deflector.

Something happened because the poster said his flame deflector had moved and about half of the firepot was directly exposed to the drip pan.
