Low temps, how to adjust offset

My Bullseye seems to be holding lower temps than the set or displayed temperature. It appears to be running approximately 14 degrees cooler than what the display says. When I adjust the offset, should it be +14 or -14 in attempt to correct this?

Example. I have set the targe at 300, Actual is reading 300, but my probes read 286.

I have the Bull, so I defer to Bullseye owners, but my understanding is that the offset is a percentage, not absolute degrees. So, 14/300 = 5%. Offset to -5. Oddly enough, my offset on the bull is -5. I think this is mainly applicable to longer, low-temp/slow cooks.
