I want to Install a Gasket On the Lid. I used a smoke tube the other night, and noticed heavy smoke stains around the top and sides of the lid. Now that I have the 340 good and dirty I need to clean the surfaces so the gasket will stick. What can I use to clean the edges of the lid?

I went with fireblack same company
But it’s going to turn black so I like the cleaner look.
I used the 7/8” wide 1/8” on the left and right
And 7/8” wide 1/4” top and bottom
I have 0 smoke leak
The wide is nice, it give a little room for errors.
Fireblack 220
Fireblack 125

Best to install the gasket before using the grill , but you can use Acetone, try it on a small area 1st.
Loosen hinge fasteners, adjust lid for best fit and tighten back up, then install gasket.
