Hi there! We have a new (not even used yet) griddle for my husband's RT-700 and it was left out on the patio and now has rust spots on it. I tried our blue scotch brite scrubber but it didn't help much! I want to clean it and season it so that we can make sausage and peppers tonight! PLEASE HELP!!

Barkeepers Friend is great for rust removal. I use it all of the time. The powder is better over the liquid.

All the above is good, for light rust. More sever rust might require a wire brush or a rust-removal product like Evapo-rust. Regardless of how you get rid of the rust, the griddle requires hours of seasoning before it is ready to cook on. I expect tonight you will need to go to plan B for those sausages and peppers.
