Hello everyone, my first post. Had a weird thing happen today, I have a small ~6lb Brisket Flat in there with the temp set at 235*. I forgot to check the hopper and it ran out of pellets, I refilled the hopper assuming everything would be fine. I check a while later and the temp was 290*, I backed it down, let it cool a bit but it shot right back up. Next, I shut it down, let it sit for a couple of minutes, and since it started, its been rock steady at the proper temp like it always has been. Any ideas what could've happened?

Well, you ran out of pellets and threw the controller a curve ball.

I wouldn’t be too alarmed by it. In my experience it’s not uncommon for the grill to overshoot the temp a bit while trying to put everything back in balance.

Cool, thanks. I wasn't too worried after the fact. But when it overshot by 55* for well over an hour, it was just very odd.
